We win. Congratulations to BAMF's first full group of Kingslayers. Hooray for Shakinbake and Steeles for stepping up to the challenge of learning the fight on the fly. Big props to Vareenus for healing through the last 10% as shadow. Congrats to Snoogums, weilder of THUNDERFURY, BLESSED BLADE OF THE WINDSEEKER for weapon juggling with poisons. Here's to hard modes.

BAMF Gets Some Redbull

Yes, it's been quite a while. How unfortunate, I know. I had hoped to bring news of Putricide downings sooner, but alas, our 25 man raids have had many a heartbreaking wipe since my last post on the Professor. We saw a heartbreaking 1% wipe last week. That kind of thing makes you wish you got off that last cast or maybe avoided that one malleable goo. Our transitions are getting better and better though, so don't fear, that news post is very much on the horizon. We're hoping this week, with Hellscream helping us out with another 5%.

We haven't been wholly without progression though. In fact, our ten man group has made some great strides. THIS, dear reader, is what I have the pleasure of informing you of today. We did get Putricide down a few times in ten man. Why didn't I post then? Well... I was hoping to bring a double post of Putricide kills for both of our raids. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. Instead, today I get to reveal a three parter, in which BAMF has finally cleared all three wings of Icecrown Citadel in ten man.

Putricide was long ago, so my memory of that momentous occasion is foggy at best. Over the last few weeks we've gotten Blood Queen and Sindragosa though, and there was much jubilation. Last week was her majesty, this week was that big bony beast. Blood queen was much of a surprise and our kill was JUST shy of a heartbreaking wipe. It was, however, our second attempt ever at her. One to get the strat down and see her abilities, the second to pull it off. The attempt wasn't without it's other hardships though. One tank didn't have Vent working that day. Kurios, in order to continue his devout devotion to our cause picked up a new laptop so he could raid while on the road for work. The hotel's wireless settings prevented him from being able to connect to Vent. Since then he played IT support for the hotel to not only get Vent working for him but also to access other needs for his REAL work over there. We ate some explosions in the air phases and at the end of the fight had people slivered and all three healers down as well as a majority of the DPS. In the end though, I suppose this only added more excitement and fervor in the long run and subsiquent attempts will see things go smoother and easier. It was the incredible successes that we saw here that made us determine to extend the lockout since we had such momentum going.

More like Blood-Queen LOL'thel, amirite?(Click to enlarge)

This week we dedicated much of our time (read: basically all of it) to Sindragosa. It was a long and grueling night. We inched closer and closer though, with each attempt. Even Seacow's legendarily terrible latency issues stopped playing an issue (though this may have been due to Vareenus planning ahead and picking up body and soul just for him). I must admit, as it got later and later in the night it got a bit trying, but eventually our DPS figured out their transitions from Sindragosa to the tombs and our ranged and healers learned to deal with stacks and stay in the right positions. Creases were ironed out and the whole process was perfected for a great kill without anyone dead at the end of the fight.

Since we still had a little time left, we thought "Why not?" We'd been waiting this long to take on the man himself, so we just couldn't help ourselves. Especially with renewed vigor. We went right to the Lich King and had our first attempt against him. I'm sure some of us went in blind, and we didn't really have the time to really get things down, but a little exposure couldn't hurt. Plus, what if, you know? There's definitely work to be done there, but we're going back after our 25 man raid to possibly wipe the floor with his unholiness.

Too soon, Executus!

Everytime You Ring a Bell, Dralane Gets Nibelung

Told you we'd be back sooner this time. The past couple weeks have seen the unveiling of the Plagueworks. The new wing in Icecrown Citadel. We've promptly sent our 10-mans and 25s up against the new challenges and are making some great strides. Last week saw our first 25-man kill of Saurfang. Well done all. This week we got the first boss of the Plagueworks down: Festergut. Each attempt was an improvement on the last until the transitions between tanks and inhales were solid (aside from our fearless leader, Eeclypse biting the dust because he's so damn squishy in the last 20%). Loot from the fight was enjoyed by Amaurial, Initiate, Hibernia (who also ninja'd a handful of pieces... who trusts this guy with ML, really?) and Unholyshalu who got Festergut's Acidic Blood. Grats to all.

Later attempts at Rotface progressed from abysmal running around like chickens with their head cut off to a well-oiled machine. While we weren't able to get him down this time, many kinks were worked out, some on the fly, and in due time he'll be another stain on the floors of the Citadel. There's some issues with oozes, but as with any new fight, there's bound to be a learning period. So far, learning's going quite well and there will be more goodies to be had by the raid.

Some of the best news is that BAMF/TGotM/... Is now clearing the first four bosses in about an hour and it's only getting faster each week. Way to go everyone! Clearly, after a little bit of exposure, this rag tag group of heroes can get comfortable, kick some ass, and take some names... regardless of any corporate entity's misconception of their name.

That's right. The other news around these parts is that Activision-Blizzard, in their infinite wisdom decided, for the second time no less, to challenge our right to be BAMF. Apparently, a love of bunnies, as can be seen on our tabard and forums and/or the devotion to the leader of Marvel's Excalibur team, Nightcrawler has no place in the world of Azeroth. Equally as tragic, Activision-Blizzard's failure on the part of customer service seems to have stuck us with the lousy placeholder of "Temp Guild of the Monkey" despite phonecalls and GM tickets lasting over a week. Way to support your product and your players.

Be that as it may, stay tuned for the next update which will surely entail the downing of putricide, princes, and maybe even more. One final note, sorry about the lame picture this week. No one seems to want to capture the moment... or the memories... At least you'll have Hibernia to grace your screen on this one, that darling little minx.

REAL Progression!

Yowza... it's been since last April that you all have actually heard about any REAL progress we've had here in the world of BAMF (and even LONGER since you've heard from me). Well... We're going to try and change that. What better way to start that off than to bring you this news. BAMF cleared Icecrown Citadel's 10 man raid the first night we tried. We also got the achievement for the Saurfang encounter. We went and made all kinds of a mess with ol' Draenosh's pimp juice. Couldn't have been done without the wonderful kiting abilities of Dralane and Lyonsmain. Well done, guys.

Since it's been a week since that release, I'm also happy to tell you that our little 10 man group went and did it again. This time we brought Pinkcrusader along for the ride to tank. Our DPS was definitely more coordinated this time as we all got Boned on Marrowgar. It ended rather sloppily, with Unusual and Hibernia keeping DPS up when tanks dropped, but it worked. Deathwhisper went much more smoothly. Especially compared to our foray in ICC25. The gunship battle, once again, brought about everyone's inner child. After bouncing around for a few minutes (to quell any urge to do so once the encounter was already in progress) we jumped into things... well all of us except Pinkcrusader. Sending him over on the last offensive displayed just how important it was to have that extra week of experience. Ship to ship, buddy, not ship to crater. All was fine though, as we prepped for Saurfang, week 2. It took a couple of attempts to really get in the swing of things, but once all the kinks were worked out, once again we made a mess of the poor possessed orc (note for RP dorks: Blah blah blah frostmourne turning etc. etc. Why do you hate alliteration?).

In other news, our alt ICC10 has also cleared the Lower Spire without much trouble. Whether this is should raise questions as to whether Blizzard really needed to nerf Marrowgar is still up for debate, but we're certainly glad to be able to gear up more characters than ever before. I hope that in the coming week or two, we'll be able to present our 25 man clear.

Progression

Two and a half years later BAMF finally clears BWL. Although the guild almost failed since most raiders forgot (or DE'd/sold) their Onyxia Scale Cloaks in the end we had a tank, a healer, and at least one DPS alive to destroy Nefarian. The raid consisted of Wixteria, Unholyshalu, Lunarstitch, Hulkkar, Caprika, Eeclypse, Drzoid, Odyar, Sheliak, Nerdboy, and Diabõlus. The phat lootz included Neltharion's Tear (Diabõlus), Serenity Belt (Diabõlus), Head of Nefarian (Odyar), Prestor's Talisman of Connivery (Wixteria), Robes of Transcendence (Caprika), Girdle of Uther (Nerdboy), Brutehammer of Strength (Nerdboy), and Netherwind Robes (DE).
